Role Summary:
The West Jefferson Machinist role involves the Manufacturing of complex rotating jet engine components, working with exotic aerospace alloys on some of the latest CNC machine tools in a clean, air conditioned facility. Following successful completion of the post-employment on-boarding training, individuals will participate on teams to identify and implement process improvement opportunities resulting in improved quality and product flow.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :

* Responsible for setting up and operating CNC and N / C machines that require high skill to set up and operate

* Required to machine all types of metals used within machine shops

* Responsible for following production planning and special process method sheets while working closely with area process engineers

* Responsible for generating and checking part dimensions during various machining stages with complex measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, special purpose gages, scales, etc.

* Required to perform precise indicating on parts where true indicator reading (TIR) and / or four-point indication is critical to the machining of the part

* Responsible to voucher or account for own time accurately using the prescribed system, as well as electronically maintain records, log books, charts and initiate electronic or manual reports when required

* May be required on a temporary basis to train operators to use certain equipment which the individual is qualified to run

* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain the CVP certification - - Training will be provided

* Responsible for accurately serializing parts to maintain traceability at all times

* Responsible for keeping facilities, material and work area orderly, exercising care in their use and maintaining good housekeeping practices

* May do minor maintenance on machines

* Must adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and all quality requirements

* Must actively participate in a team based environment which includes, but not limited to the following:

* active participation in daily team meetings and activities

* cooperating with and relating well to others

* practicing direct professional communication with team members

* being open to new ideas from team members

* and considering opinions different from their own

* Operator performs setup and operation of equipment to drawings, method sheets, etc., but may be required to supplement this information with own job knowledge on occasion

* Continuous visual concentration with or without reasonable accommodation may be necessary to develop and maintain tolerance

* Forklifts, cranes and material handling equipment are expected to be used instead of manual lifting and carrying

Qualifications/Requirements:

* High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent

* 18 years of age or older

* Ability to use computers and learn Microsoft Office

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

* Must pass background check and drug screen

* Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment

* Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) {for example safety glasses and safety shoes}

* Fluency in the English Language. Must speak English proficiently and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English

* Ability to lift, carry, push and / or pull or lift parts up to 20 pounds (With or without reasonable accommodation)

* Ability to work off shift, either the 2nd shift from 2:00 pm – 10:15 pm OR the 3rd shift from 10:00 pm – 6:15 am
