Responsible for all of the Human Resources (HR) functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of the corporation and in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Will also participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.


  • Formulates and recommends human resources practices and objectives.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions (e.g., OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour). Monitors risk exposure of the organization. Directs the preparation of information requested or required for legal compliance. Acts as primary contact with employment counsel and outside government agencies.
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organizations human resource function and performance.
  • Translates strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.
  • Acts as senior level advisor on human resources issues to other executives within the organization.
  • Within financial parameters, develops progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Develops cultural competence and diversity programs to allow the organization to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to assure the full development and performance capabilities of all employees.
  • Develops human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develops specific programs for filling the gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Enhances and/or develops implements and enforces human resources policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Facilitates the resolution of Employee relations issues.
  • Responsible for administration of the AAR Ideas Matter program.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations as application to personnel policies and procedures for US government contractors.
  • Experience employing US expats and non-US citizens in foreign countries.
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic and international) may be required.
  • Operates within departmental budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • SHRM-SCP/PHR, SPHR Certifications


  • Ten plus years of broad-based HR experience, six of which must be at the leadership level.
  • A strong background of demonstrated Human Resources leadership, having driven HR programs in rapidly developing, changing environments and having functioned successfully as a significant and accomplished HR business leader.
  • Previous experience as a Human Resources leader working for a company conducting U.S. Government contracting in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • An effective educator and facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflicts.


  • Experience working in an aviation environment is desirable.
