Boeing is seeking a Versatile Technologist / System Administrator to join a group of IT Infrastructure specialists that provide Operational support to specialized equipment and laboratories in the Northwest (primarily in the Seattle / Puget Sound corridor). You will be responsible for keeping the systems (servers, desktops, networks) operational, secure and compliant. The role involves knowledge of the operations of IT systems and requires knowledge of how they fit within specific technical environments. The systems utilize both Windows and Linux operating systems (i.e., Red Hat Linux, Windows Server 2008-12, Windows 10), in both physical and virtual environments, and network equipment from multiple manufacturers.
Duties typically include install/configure/maintain server, workstation, and network hardware, software, and components; perform incident management to resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; and to ensure systems comply with relevant constantly evolving security directives. Architect, install, and administer storage, backup, and network infrastructure needs.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
3+ year’s experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Operating Systems, either Linux or Windows Server and related COTS products
2+ year’s experience with storage systems: EMC, NetApp, data domain
Installation and troubleshooting experience with one or more of the following: McAfee, Splunk, NetBackup, Networker, Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), YUM, or Puppet
Hardware installation and troubleshooting experience
CompTIA A+ certification, CompTIA Security+ certification, or CISSP designation
Experience with Global Policy Object (GPO) configuration
Experience configuring and operating in an LDAP environment
Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and managing virtual machines
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting CISCO and/or Extreme networks
Degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
