To complete bench upholstery, sewing machine and upholstery cutting operations using a wide variety of upholstery materials and tools.
Works under general supervision to fabricate, cover and assemble flat and curved panels. Sew simple covers and curtains using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.
Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools.
Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads and coverings.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools/equipment and basic measuring instruments.
Ability to read and write to interpret basic drawings. Ability to work from detailed instructions and minor decision making.
Performs other related duties.
High school education or equivalent and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.
6+ months experience in upholstery, bench upholstery, and/or mechanical experience.
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
