We’re looking for a Thermal Spray Process Technician and Robotic Programmer at our Webster, Massachusetts location!
A Robot Programmer/Technician is responsible for preparing, programming, troubleshooting, and de-bugging integrated industrial robotic processes.
You’ll work closely with the Cold Spray Engineers assigned to a project through all project phases:
• Designing and process development
• Pre-programming configuration and set-up
• Programming and debug
• Cycle time/motion optimization
• Customer acceptance
• Customer site programming and launch support
You’ll be required to write, proof and execute industrial robot programs for the intended operations of a robot. You must also be capable of operating a cell with a robot including manually leading the robot end-effector, installation and checking out programs for the cell, and train level I operators.
You’ll also have the opportunity to create virtual robot cells using simulation software for offline configuration and pre-programming (prior to equipment power up) and will be trained and certified to operate cold spray application systems and auxiliary shop equipment.
You’ll be expected to perform multiple tasks including inspection, cleaning, grit blasting, masking, coating, and packaging under limited supervision.
The physical demands of this role could include lifting at least 30 pounds and climbing, standing, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods of time.
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum, but a two year technical degree is preferred.
It’s anticipated that you will also have the following:
Basic and Advanced Robotic Programming, including but not limited to:
• I/O configuration
• Variable frames (user frames)
• Numerical variables
• Positional variables
• Safety software (create and control the restricted space)
• Axis mastering
• Support equipment calibration and maintenance requirements
Two years previous industrial programming experience (required)
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work safely and efficiently under pressure, work as part of a team with minimal supervision, and interact professionally with customers and suppliers verbally and in writing
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
It’s preferred if you have:
Experience programming Fanuc robots
Thermal Spray or Cold Spray application experience
