Position Overview:

The Logs & Records Supervisor is responsible to the Maintenance Manager for leadership and direct management of the people and processes of the Logs & Records work center to ensure the safe and expeditious maintenance of assigned aircraft to support the Navy Flight Training Program.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Demonstrate the necessary leadership and management skills to lead a large workforce in complying with established policies, procedures and operations to support the Navy’s Flight Training Program.

*

Supervise, plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the Logs & Records Team in the maintenance and repair of TH-57 aircraft in support of flight training operations.

*

Perform management analysis and workload planning to ensure customer service and company goals are met.

*

Ensure Maintenance/Work Instructions are established and issued to define and/or clarify maintenance procedures specified in government directives or not outlined in available technical data.

*

Team with the Quality Manager to analyze maintenance data to identify trends and deficiencies.

*

Submit to the Maintenance Manager any recommendations for manpower, materials, facilities and capital equipment.

*

Ensure that Aircraft and Engine electronic and paper logbooks are maintained in accordance with contract requirements.

*

Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of NALCOMIS/OOMA aircraft, ALSS, engine and support equipment configuration management, data base management, reports, and processes.

*

Provide data to Government personnel as required by Contract.

*

May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.

*

Must have an extensive working knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series, OPNAV 3750 series, applicable ISO, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Navy Instructions.

*

Must be able to utilize card files and common office equipment.

*

Must be able to interface with Government Representatives. Must be customer oriented.

*

Must be able to meet Navy qualification requirements and be certified to release aircraft safe for flight within 90 days of assignment to the position.

*

Must be able to work weekends and other shifts as required.

*

Must gain a thorough knowledge of the TH-57 Contract and Company policies and procedures.

*

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.

*

May be designated as the Company’s Weight and Balance Officer.

*

Will keep the Maintenance Manager apprised on the status of work in progress and coordinate with other work centers and departments as required to accomplish tasks.

*

Instruct assigned employees on proper methods and procedures as required.

*

Investigate and resolve employee’s complaints. Be thoroughly familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); may resolve Step 1 grievances in accordance with the CBA.

*

Counsel and/or discipline employees verbally or in writing as needed to enforce Company policies, directives and CBA requirements following progressive disciplinary procedures.

*

Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the Tool Control Program.

*

Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the FOD Prevention Program.

*

Adhere to and enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.

*

Ensure compliance with required Quality Control policies and inspections.

*

Some limited travel may be required.

*

Ability to communicate accurately and concisely on aircraft maintenance and material support matters, both orally and in writing. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.

*

Computer literacy highly desired.

*

Perform all other duties as assigned.

May also assist the Maintenance Team with the coordination of all TH-57 maintenance functions as outlined in the Government contract, which includes but is not limited to the administration and management of the following:

*

Certify aircraft Safe for Flight when qualified and designated

*

Flight-line launch/recovery and servicing

*

Scheduled/Unscheduled Maintenance

*

Conditional Maintenance

*

Aviators Life Support Equipment

*

Ground Support Equipment

*

Subcontracted maintenance support

*

Off-Site/On-Call Maintenance and Off-Site Emergency Repair

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Bachelors degree with 4 years related experience, or Associates degree with 8 years related exempt experience, or High School diploma with 12 years related experience, 9 of which must be related exempt experience.

In addition to the educational requirements, must have a minimum of five (5) years documented experience in Logs and Records maintaining aircraft and/or engine logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records and associated component records.

Must have a minimum of three (3) years documented supervisory experience in Logs and Records utilizing NALCOMIS/OOMA for maintaining aircraft and/or engine logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records and associated component records. (U.S. Navy or Marine Corps preferred).

Two (2) years hands-on experience in Maintenance Control designated to certify aircraft Safe for Flight (U.S. Navy or Marine Corps preferred).*

Graduate of U.S. Navy Maintenance Control Admin-OOMA (Cor equivalent (preferred).* and Satisfactory Completion of Configuration Management C-555-0059 or equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government issued CAC card. Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
