This position supports the PMA-265 Program Office at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) in Patuxent River, MD. The successful applicant will apply technical writing skill towards naval aviation principles to support the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) with all TMS aircraft. Successful applicant will work in a team environment and provide technical and programmatic support for the F/A-18 & EA-18G IPT teams. The successful applicant will perform technical writing, research and data collection for various IPT system/subsystem projects to include writing Engineering documents, White papers, Project plans, Training and Maintenance documentation. The successful applicant will research and analyze aircraft modification designs, test results for systems/subsystems upgrades and provide technical written documentation for PMA-265 IPT leads initiatives and alternative solutions. The selected candidate will organize, manage and participate in all technical, programmatic reviews and meetings. The successful applicant will be instrumental in documentation of all data in a technical written report format for Lv’1 and IPTs. The selected candidate will stand in as the point-person in the absence of the level 2's IPTs in selective meetings. Tasking will include a wide range of program coordination efforts and the successful candidate must exhibit well-developed verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; analytical skills; attention to detail; organizational skills; ability to assess, apply, and recommend improvements to established business processes; and have the ability to balance priorities in order to work effectively in the fast-paced program office environment.
Education/Experience: This position requires a MS or MA degree in a Business related field. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree in any field or a Project Management Institute (PMI) certification and an additional three (3) years of experience may be substituted for an MS or MA degree. An additional five (5) years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. The selected candidate must have at least ten (10) years of experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail) is required. Experience with Aircraft systems onto the F/A-18 platform is highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills is required. This position requires a self-starter who requires limited oversight. Candidate must be able to perform research, provide written technical document findings and determinations and provide associated recommendations. Excellent reading, writing, and interpersonal skills are a must, as well as the ability to multi-task. The applicant must be experienced with Microsoft Office software tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project, and adept in technical report writing and presentation development. Knowledge of NAVAIR processes, policies and organizational structure is helpful. Candidates should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience in technical writing and assessments of varying depth and scope of program schedule, milestone accomplishments and technical objectives.
