Job Description

The Success Factors System Administrator, Talent Management is a member of the Talent Development team, and part of the People Department at American Airlines. This team helps American ‘go for great’ by innovatively supporting philosophy, process and tools for leaders to identify and develop their talent. This position reports to the Manager, Talent Management, and is responsible for maintaining the Success Factors Talent Management system inclusive of the Performance Management, Goal Management and Succession Planning modules.   • Manage the Success Factors system administration for the company’s talent modules which include recruiting, onboarding, performance, succession, and leadership development

  • Maintain configuration of the Success Factors system to support business processes in partnership with other HR Leadership and other system administrators

  • Maintain all system data elements including enterprise-wide and divisional administrative security roles and supporting content (e.g., profiles, forms, onboarding portals, assessments), as well as manage and configure analytics (e.g., preparation and delivery of reports and how to leverage reporting of data)

Partner with the Data and Reporting Analyst to outline measurement strategy and evaluate levels and frequency of execution for scheduled, automated reports associated with Report Designer

  • Partner with other internal colleagues including technology and 3rd party vendors as needed for system maintenance

  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in various internal and external user groups

  • Work with 3rd party provider to remain current on quarterly release system specifications, managing system changes, and communicating updates to impacted stakeholders

  • Design and maintain system processes, procedures and support documentation based on lessons learned, continuous improvement and quarterly releases

  • Work with internal partners to perform quality assurance checks on system configuration, test workflow for proper functionality, troubleshoot, and resolve problems

  • Perform analysis for system improvements and assist and participate in system test design, system testing and support of the user during transition stages to oversee adoption and ease of use

  • Partner with key stakeholders to solve system issues and ensure their needs are supported

  • Perform routine maintenance processes to manage system accuracy, functionality and management of exceptions

  • Work in daily partnership with the Talent System Administrator and Recruiting System Administrator to secure alignment and cross-training of skills

Job Qualifications


System Development and Testing

  • Project Documents Drafts for presentations, user manuals, training manuals, one point learning, policies and procedures

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams to manage a team-oriented project

  • Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

  • Presentation Designs for management review and demo training

  • Classroom training related to Success Factors Talent Management modules as required

Job Qualifications (Continued)

Key Knowledge

  • Success Factors certifications

  • Provisioning ID and experience in provisioning

  • Project management experience

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree,  preferably with major course work in information systems, business process analysis, operational documentation, and workflow analysis/process reengineering

  • Master’s Degree preferred, with major coursework in HRIS systems and/or cloud technology and architecture

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Cloud Based SAP Success Factors

  • Minimum of 3 years of reporting and queries

  • Minimum of 5 years leading SAP Success Factors cloud focused projects

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources Talent Management

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Success Factors Cloud based talent management modules: Performance, Succession, Goal Management, Compensation and Employee Central
