  • Responsible for all Maintenance Purchasing activities
  • Manages and evaluates the performance of Purchasing staff against measureable performance goals
  • Provide operational guidance to staff and ensure training and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain detailed working knowledge of all business systems, applicable to the operation
  • Participate in daily operations meeting and communicate status of department metrics and of requested material.
  • Ensure expeditious receipt and distribution of operation critical items.
  • Develop and ensure compliance of all processes for all shifts.
  • Ensure proper communications are maintained with Maintenance Planning, Supply Operations, Inventory and Purchasing.
  • Monitor and process as needed all expenditures, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Develops and maintains strong airline and supplier relationships
  • Develop and maintain the Purchasing Operations procedures manual.
  • Work with Engineering, Maintenance etc. to develop short and long term plans to satisfy material needs.
  • Perform personnel functions, including optimizing manpower coverage/scheduling, tracking of sick calls, vacation, payroll and as needed to support purchasing management
  • Reports to Manager of Purchasing with responsibility for the organization, production and efficiency of Purchasing

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field and a minimum 2 years of experience managing direct reports
  • Strong process analysis and continuous improvement skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other business/ERP/MRP systems

Preferred Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working in an airline, logistics or related field
  • Previous IAM management experience
  • Proven experience managing a budget
