  • Responsible for all HNL Line Maintenance activities.
  • Reports to Manager Line Maintenance with responsibility for the organization, production and efficiency of Line Maintenance.
  • Manages and evaluates the performance of HNL Line Maintenance staff against measureable performance goals and regulatory compliance.
      • Ensures performance of routine/non-routine maintenance on HAL aircraft in accordance with HAL policies and federal regulatory requirements with a precise focus on meeting “On Time Performance (OTP)” goals.
      • Ensure that personnel are trained and that tools and materials are available to support the operations.
      • Coordinates closely with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Senior Manager, to monitor GSE condition, repair intervals and usage to ensure availability to support operations.
      • Proactively leads maintenance personnel to reach a goal of zero “0” 05 Delays.
  • Provides accurate timely reporting to Maintenance Operations Control and Maintenance department leadership of status of in-service aircraft, resource constraints and other impediments to maximum availability of in-service aircraft.
  • Leads and manages line maintenance employees balancing responsibilities to the company and employees.
      • Ensure safe working environment and compliance with safe work practices and policies to include the proper wear of PPE. Conduct routine safety audits of assigned personnel and work areas.
      • Proactively leads assigned employees through motivation, communication, mentorship and accountability.
      • Actively manages performance goals, and career development plans for maintenance personnel.
      • Be a responsible steward of company resources with an emphasis on cost control, and efficient resource management. Ensures that HA property and equipment is maintained to the highest standard.
      • Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
      • Maintains a good working relationship with staff, vendors and inter departments (team player environment).
  • Continuous improvement mindset to constantly evaluate and seek improvements in operational efficiencies in an ever-changing environment
      • Establishment, promotion, and facilitation of continuous improvement tools to drive efficiency and reduce waste in all areas of the organization
      • Analyzes data and workflow to identify areas of opportunities and possible solutions.
      • Manages Overtime to meet company goal of 2%.
  • Responsible for any other required duties as assigned by the Director Line Maintenance.



Basic Requirements

  • Strong analytical and operational business skills.
  • 5 years Aviation Maintenance production experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.
  • Able to obtain an AOA badge.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • High School Diploma.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to frequently travel to Hawaii maintenance stations including: Kona, Hilo, Lihue and Honolulu and work flexible shifts.
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B717, B767 and A330 experience preferred.
  • Experience in a FAR part 121 operation.
  • Previous IAM management experience.
  • Experience with building and maintaining a budget.
  • Two years college.
  • Computer experience is preferred, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat etc.
