Position Expectations 


Position Title: Supervisor Facilities (Boston) 

Position Summary:

The Supervisor manages, coordinates and oversees all the maintenance functions at all JetBlue Airways’ facilities.  The Supervisor oversees the work performed by our business partners, who may be on sight contractual or utilized on an ad hoc basis.  Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for facilitating communications and information to and from JetBlue’s internal customers or to business partners for resolution.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the performance of our business partners as it relates to the maintenance of our facilities

  • Supervise and assign mechanical maintenance along with general esthetic tasks to our business partners

  • Monitor building equipment for mechanical functionality and proper preventative maintenance

  • Organize facility projects and all project management with the associated business partners and contractors

  • Manage budgets

  • Travel  to assist with the removal of snow at all JetBlue sites as needed

  • Direct the removal of environmental debris from weather related events

  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or General Education  Development (GED)Diploma 

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a facilities environment 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

  • Able to operate and understand the functionality of HVAC systems, lighting controls, electrical basics, plumbing basics, and be able to comprehend and manage (after training) the facility building management computer system

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States 

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Facility trade organization certificates related to facility maintenance 

  • Three (3) years of  airport or airline experience 

  • Three (3) years of leadership experience 

  • Conveyor and/or passenger boarding bridge experience 

  • Excellent prioritization and reasoning skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Project management experience

Crewmember Expectations: 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality 

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion


  • Computer and other office equipment

  • HVAC, electrical, and plumbing

Work Environment: 

  • Airport Environment

  • Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within airports 

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time 

  • Shift work 

  • Regularly scheduled weekend work may be required

Physical Effort:  

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. (Medium)
