About The Job

Responsible for supervisng operations towards its primary objectives by performing duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Job Functions

* Supervises the aircraft maintenance workload, resources, and activities for an assigned work group or several work groups at terminal and/or hangar operations at line or base maintenance stations in which a manner as to ensure continuing safety, compliance, dependability, reliability and financial performance, with fair and harmonious relationships within assigned work group(s), the operations management team, TWU, internal customers, vendors, FAA, and all non-American Airlines (AA) business contacts

* Supervises, administers, and coordinates the activites of their assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the Shift Manager and other Senior Leadership and the airline


Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

* High School diploma or GED equivalency

* 2 years experience as a Crew Chief, Tech Crew Chief or other related supervisory or leadership jobs

* 5 years’ verifiable hands-on experience spent in the repair, maintenance, overhaul or manufacture of aircraft with a gross weight in excess of 70,000 lbs. (including fuel) or engines with 15,000 lbs., or more of thrust

* Proven successful track record and experience with process improvement in maintenance and/or production environments

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

* Associate and/or Bachelors degree in related field

* 6 months' experience in jobs requiring budget understanding, resource forecasting and management, and workload planning in maintenance environments

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

* A&P License

* Knowledge of functional area

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

* Ability to supervise management, non-management and contract labor work groups

* Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities

Language & Communication Skills

* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels in the organization

Physical Abilities

* Physical ability necessary to safely and successfully perform the essential functions of the position, with or without any legally required reasonably accommodations that do not pose an undue hardship
