We are seeking a Structural Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Structural, Stress, or a related Engineering field and at least 3 years of relevant experience. What to look forward to:

As a Structural Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to analyze, research, and develop our complex structural engineering specifications involving structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment, and maintenance designs. You'll be responsible for analyzing damage tolerance, durability, producibility, cost, dynamics, loads, stability and stress fatigue, thermal analysis, and safety. You'll recommend design approaches to meet our production requirements for new or improved products or processes.

Must-haves:

* Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study with at least 3 years of relevant experience
* Ability to analyze designs generated in 3D CAD software for review and ensure release in configuration management tool utilizing classical hand calculation methods and finite element analysis
* Ability to work in conjunction with stakeholders to develop design concepts in accordance with Customer/internal requirements, certification requirements, SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions
* Ability to create technical documentation – including structural substantiation reports, test plans, and test reports and work with approving authority to obtain approval(s)
* Ability to coordinate with operations for the installation of parts and assemblies for approved SNC designs to include design clarification and discrepancy resolution through the approval of drawing red-lines, revisions and non-conformance reports
* The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

Preferred:

* Experience with Femap/Nastran
* Familiarity with aircraft structure/construction
* Familiarity with industry standard analytical methods (Niu, Bruhn, etc.)
* Understanding of solid mechanics and material properties
* Familiarity with FEMAP/NX Nastran or MSC Patran/Nastran finite element modeling software

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
