Role Summary:

The Staff Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The Staff Engineer will focus on leading projects that require mechanical, structural, and civil engineering acumen within the TFIE group.

Essential Responsibilities:
This group (TFIE) provides infrastructure engineering support to all of GE Aviation’s domestic, international, development engine, production engine, engine services, and component test cells.
Test Facilities Infrastructure Engineering (TFIE) is a group of Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineers whose mission is to provide engineering services for design and build-up of test infrastructure systems in support of the engineering initiatives. TFIE integrates test cell systems capabilities to the test article while striving to exceed customer expectations.

Additionally, as the Staff Engineer, key responsibilities will include:

* Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

* Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements

* Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments

* Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

* Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams

* Mentor others in the organization

* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

* Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in an aerospace, mechanical engineering, or civil / structural engineering position

* BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college

* Minimum of 10 years of aircraft engine test facilities engineering experience

* MS Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college

* Licensed Professional Engineer (Up to date license in any State)

* CAD Proficient

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functional boundaries

* Passion for engineering of Test Facility Infrastructure items

* Project Management Professional (PMP) & experience managing schedule / budget
