The Senior Purchasing Analyst demonstrates a solid understanding of supply chain methodologies and plays a key role in interfacing with our internal and external customers to lead, coordinate, and implement procurement activities. This individual is a vital member of our team because they are the focal point responsible for all procurement aspects associated with assigned suppliers. Specific responsibilities include purchase order purchasing, spot buys, and requisition processing. Leveraging the supply chain playbooks and working with the delivery assurance team to ensure the timely delivery of parts. As an analyst, you will assist with supplier corrective action and transition processes. The individual will be an active participant in their skill development, strive to be an expert in their part family and perform in a continuous improvement environment.

The position requires robustly following and implementing supply chain, program management and engineering standard work for new product introduction.

Someone in this role will perform the following duties:

* Follows UTAS’s best practice standard work for Purchasing processes.
* Acts as liaison for engineering technology, material and component optimization, new product cost analysis, design readiness and manufacturing producibility.
* Is actively involved in sourcing strategy and vision with commodity management.
* Executes procurement transactions.
* Ensures development hardware and FAI delivery timelines are met.
* Supports supplier development activity.
* Initiates and directs UTAS playbook processes such as UPPAP production readiness, substantiation plans, quality plans, CAI/FAIs, and special process approvals.
* May coordinate with Procurement on negotiating pricing, contracts, and terms.
* May be asked to provide impute regarding vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
* Purchases items, materials, or services of a technical and specialized nature.
* Analyzes inventory--identifying areas of opportunity to optimize all levels of material within the facility.
* Schedules supply chain deliveries to support production, which optimizes inventory.
* Administers pull schedules, which optimizes supply chain inventory, while supporting customer requirements.
* Manages purchase order release process.
* Identifies key stakeholders, develops success criteria, defines measurable metrics, creates resource plans, identifies risks and constraints, and identifies the critical path of scope, time and budget.
* Establishes and maintains order policies and lead times for assigned products.
* Supports/maintains established inventory policies and procedures including cycle counting, point-of-use, FIFO inventory, returnable containers procedures and engineering change effectivity control.
* Maintains an effective filing system, which supports immediate job functions, ISO requirements and related industry requirements.
* Develops and optimizes work-in-process levels, which maximizes quality and throughput to best meet customer requirements.
* Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct.
* Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

* BA/BS Degree in Supply Chain Management or other related fields with 5+ years minimum experience in supply chain/procurement leadership with increasing levels of responsibility.
* Masters with 3+ years’ experience
* Professional Supply Chain Certification preferred
* Senior CI Accreditation (Lean, Six Sigma – both classroom and field accreditation) preferred
* Project Management Certification Preferred

Experience/ Qualifications:

* Engineering design familiarization and manufacturability evaluation
* Ability to establish credibility with business counterparts of various disciplines.
* Demonstrated success in developing detailed plans and carrying through to successful execution.
* Experience with global activities, including sourcing and/or operations within different cultures and styles.
* Experience managing or leading projects or programs
