Job Description

American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Object-Oriented Programmer Analyst to perform the following duties: Responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions for complex business problems using Java/JEE, Spring, and IBM WebSphere technologies. Design and develop complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers and database objects to be used by standalone shell scripts or by the enterprise application. Build, deploy, configure, operate and tune IBM WebSphere servers. Assist application support team to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Evaluate user requirements for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and system capabilities. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and to improve its performance. Monitor performance of system after implementation, including providing training on how to use new or enhanced systems. Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, business partners, and management.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, electrical engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or in IT using Java/JEE & IBM WebSphere middleware technologies, plus demonstrated experience in:    Airline industry; Java/JEE, Spring, REST, SOAP, MQ JMS, XPath, XSLT, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JSON; Designing & developing PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers and database objects; Middleware applications development using IDEs which includes IBM WID and IBM IID; Building, deploying, operating and tuning IBM WebSphere middleware suite of products that includes IBM WPS, IBM BPM, IBM WAS on Oracle SuperCluster zones; Automating deployments, configuring and managing applications by developing JACL, JYTHON and Shell scripts; Performing DR operations involving  ZFS replication and Oracle GoldenGate implementations; Application performance monitoring tools that includes Tivoli performance viewer (TPV), Oracle RUEI and Dynatrace APM; Rally and Agile software development methodology; and RHEL and Solaris operating systems.


Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
