The Performance Analysis Group at United Technologies Aerospace Systems – Air Management Systems is seeking a candidate with demonstrated expertise in the application of analytical methods and high-fidelity simulations, including computational fluid dynamics and conjugate heat transfer simulations, to support the design of power and/or cooling system components. The candidate is expected to have experience participating in multi-disciplinary analysis teams, as well as experience leading the application of analytical and experimental methods to validate high-fidelity simulations. The candidate must also possess a strong working knowledge of Star-CCM+ simulation environment.
A successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of analysis and aerodynamic design of key components (ducts, mixers, heat exchangers) within highly integrated Air Management Systems (e.g., Environmental Control, Engine Bleed Air, Air Distribution, Liquid and Vapor Cycle Systems, and gas inerting systems) for multiple aircraft programs. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating the transfer of work to remote teams (such as those at GEC-India) and oversee analyses being conducted there, continuous improvement of the overall group’s capability including mentoring, development of standard work instructions for analysis, and identification and implementation of state-of-the-art methods to address key capability gaps. In addition, the candidate must be able to direct failure investigations and root cause analysis, and be able to effectively present technical data to drive decision making within a multi-disciplinary team

Qualification: Experience in the use of the Star-CCM+ analysis package strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Siemens UG-NX or similar CAD package.
- Working knowledge of ANSYS Fluent / CFX a plus.
- Demonstrated ability work within multi-disciplinary analysis teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 4+ years of related work experience
Education: BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, MS preferred
