American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Commodity Manager to perform the following duties: Analyze the commodity market, specifically related to Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC), and to establish a sustainable sourcing strategy, which will include source evaluation and selection, supply base rationalization, and deploying corporate marketing strategy. Develop and deploy purchasing strategy to meet project key performance indicators and reduce total purchasing costs. Provide support and reduce risk regarding project cost, quality, and delivery. Coordinate supply chain management, including bid analysis, supplier evaluation and selection, and contract negotiation. Communicate and work as a team with Technical Operations group including Engineering, Maintenance, Program Managers, Manufacturing, and other team members including Marketing, Onboard Products. Ensure compliance to rules and regulations as outlined by the segment and in the corporate policies and procedures. Understand and present financial performance of suppliers as it relates to predicting supply chain performance. Build strategies to eliminate risks in supplier performance in the IFEC marketplace. Create roadmaps for internal projects that involve supplier engagement and support the full lifecycle of the project autonomously in concurrence with other internal stakeholders. Provide leadership and maintain a high level of performance professionalism in carrying out the goals of the department. Support on-site representatives directly and indirectly to maximize such resources in efficiently improving supplier production, performance and supply chain systems.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration, supply chain management or related plus at least 3 years in the job offered or in project management, plus demonstrated experience in: Building complex business cases and financial models using MS Excel, Project management using MS Project Manager, Visio, and Excel, Extracting data and information from data management and warehousing systems including MS Access and SAP, to build tools to develop custom supply chain solutions, RFQ and RFP, Project Strategy development and implementation for complex projects, SAP supply chain application architecture and operation, Supplier selection process for aircraft installed parts, Commodity market research, Knowledge of contract terms, Supplier SLA monitoring, Airline industry experience.
Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
