Responsible for all payroll tax and accounting activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and approval of all filings of local, state, and federal payroll tax returns. Will provide oversight of all tax and accounting activitives performed by third parties; in responding to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies, in researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures, and in preparing budgets, projections, and special reports for senior management.
Reconcile payroll tax and GL reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by tax service provider.
Manage filing of tax updates weekly.
Monitor quarterly tax filings.
Prepare headcount tax forms.
Reconcile payroll taxes to the general ledger and book journal entries.
Reconcile cash activity to Payroll and reports.
Reconcile Payroll reports to 941s, 1099s and W-2s.
Special projects and research.
Payroll reconciliations to the general ledger.
Research and reconciliation of payroll taxes from prior periods.
Must have at least 3-4 years experience with payroll tax filings and compliance issues.
Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in excel
Must be able to create reconciliations that clearly communicate.
Experience reconciling and preparing W-2 forms.
Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
