The candidate will work at a spacecraft ground station as part of a Vehicle Engineering team. The Vehicle Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of spacecraft operations. The responsibilities for this position are two-fold in nature. The first role will be as an IT engineer supporting computer and system maintenance and the second will be as a vehicle engineer.
Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system in support of mission operations.
Develop, select, tailor and deploy software processes, tools and metrics.
Responsible for all aspects of spacecraft operations, mission planning and/or monitoring and trending the on-orbit spacecraft telemetry looking for adverse trends that could affect operations, as well as planning and execution of all required spacecraft maintenance and recovery from spacecraft anomalies.
This position will coordinate with management and peers to ensure the integrity of high quality operational products, including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration.
This position will be required to analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configuration in accordance with defined constraints and operational requirements.
The Vehicle Engineering team works a normal Monday – Friday work schedule, however during special events like launches or anomaly recoveries there will be some off hours work required.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
* This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
* This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.
* Classroom or work related experience with SOFTWARE engineering applications.
* May be required to work a variety of fluctuating shifts (to include 24x7) and may be required to complete a certification/qualification program.
* Linux and Unix administration and shell scripting.
* Experience programming in Perl, Matlab, and Python.
