Kidde Fire Protection Systems (FPS) Systems is currently seeking a site general manager for the Wilson location. Kidde FPS is a global organization of close to 900 employees with offices in the UK, Australia, France, and Germany and headquartered in Wilson, North Carolina, USA. We design, manufacture, and service fire protection systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms. The Kidde Wilson site has over 700 employees, over 160K sq ft of facilities, and services over 1000 customers, delivering more than 4 million pieces per year. We value people, integrity, ideas, and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse team and manage our headquarters site for cost, schedule and technical performance to attain the highest degree of quality and customer satisfaction. This individual has responsibility for has profit and loss responsibility for the entire site and has direct reports in operations and materials management to support the plant. This role works in a matrixed organization where other functions report through peers across the business. This would include Finance, International Trade Compliance, Contracts, Human Resources and others. Typical Roles/Area of Focus: * Incumbent’s responsibilities will include overall manufacturing operations leadership of the Wilson site to ensure that the site meets or exceeds customer expectations in quality, on-time delivery, and responsiveness. * Provide strategy and direction to meet long-term growth, cost, and quality objectives. * Develop and lead implement site-wide transformation. Implement and drive a process of continuous improvement embracing ACE/Lean principles and tools including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping & other related methodologies to * Support Company policies, procedures, and workplace rules including environmental, health, and safety objectives to ensure compliance, keep our people safe and minimize risk. Ensure compliance to all UTC, UTAS and outside regulatory policies and procedures. * Develop talent at all levels of the organization, continuously improve employee engagement, and ensure high potential individuals receive stretch development opportunities. Qualification: * Six years of experience managing a team is required for this position. * Working within a manufacturing site is a requirement. * Strong leadership, team building skills, and effective communication skills * Must be an active leader in Ethics, EH&S and Quality initiatives. Preferred: * Managing a smaller site is preferred, but not required. Authorization to Work Restrictions Due to federal regulation or contracting requirements, this position is only available to U.S. persons. Nothing matters more to UTC Aerospace Systems than our strong ethical and safety commitments. As such, all U.S. positions require a background check, which may include a drug screen.
