The UTC Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 16-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return to work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance, Re-Empower participants may have an opportunity to convert to a full-time role.

The first cohort of the UTC Re-Empower Program will run from January 22, 2018 – May 11, 2018.

Minimum Program Qualifications
To qualify for the UTC Re-Empower Program, candidates should:
Currently be on a voluntary break of at least two years or more
Have a minimum of five years of professional work experience
Have an interest in returning to work in a full-time position
Have an ability to attend the Re-Empower Program Orientation at UTC Headquarters in Farmington, CT on January 22 – January 24, 2018

UTC Aerospace Systems and its Engine Control Systems Service Engineering Department are seeking a Service Engineer. This service engineer will support activities in preparation for new product introductions and in-service product support.
This position requires a highly motivated individual who can identify issues and is able to drive action in the development, planning, and assisting in the implementation of timely and effective corrective actions for field issues involving engine and control systems and products in both military and commercial arrangements. The service engineer is expected to help drive special investigations internally and with partners, gather field data and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action plans and implementation.
The process includes data gathering (field reliability, operator use and maintenance), analysis, coordinating special investigations, product testing, strong customer and UTAS field service interface, and corrective action implementation.
The individual will effectively engage all aspects of engineering departments, suppliers, repair centers and worldwide airline operators. The individual will work with technical publications for initiation, planning, and coordination of Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters, and Component Maintenance Manuals, and with the Customer Response Center (CRC) to address in service technical/AOG issues in an appropriately responsive manner for assigned aircraft systems and products.
Candidate must develop effective technical support solutions with strong ability to communicate at all levels (executive to technician). The Engine and Control Systems Service Engineering function acts as the "Voice of the Customer" for promoting positive change to our products and processes. Preparation and presentation of functional issues and familiarization maintenance training to airline operators is a responsibility of this position. The service engineer will be asked to support presentation preparation steps.

Qualification: 4+ years experience with aviation, power-plant systems, mechanical and electronic control products. Experience in aircraft systems, product and aircraft troubleshooting abilities desired.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal are required. Ability to proficiently use common Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools is required. Ability to effectively use ACE tools and principles to improve products, processes and services provided is required.
US Citizenship or authorization to work in the US is required for this position.
