As part of the Intelligent Aircraft - Digital Initiatives team, you'll help drive digital transformation creating Big Data solutions using the latest analytics, cloud and Internet of Things technologies. You’ll help us work aggressively to bring Industry 4.0 to everything from the shop floor to space travel.

The IT Server and Storage Specialist will be responsible for the execution and delivery of IT Infrastructure services ensuring stable IT operations, project delivery and end user service excellence. The Server and Storage Specialist will lead the team’s focus on refresh and hardware replacement throughout the CSC and HP managed environments with a focus in cost reduction and consolidation where possible. This position will also be tasked with supporting the various internal and external compliance reviews and audits performed throughout the year including documenting and scheduling disaster recovery exercises and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) reviews.

Principal Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with business leadership to develop IT requirements and, in conjunction with the Global IT team, develop and execute the IT strategy
* Cultivate and maintain critical relationships with business, vendors, and enterprise partners
* Develop and execute a schedule across all UTAS business units to ensure timely and robust Disaster Testing occurs annually as per UTC Policy
* Lead regular pre-audit exercises in preparation for annual UTC-led compliance audits to include:
* Gathering documentation and objective evidence of compliance as requested
* Working with CSC and HP partners to ensure server patching and vulnerability scans are addressed
* Direct IT partners to conduct data restores and testing as required
* Schedule and review local facilities compliance review workflow process
* Review local administrative and service accounts for compliance
* Act as the point of escalation for VPN token and Aventail issues with AXON PR
* Conduct regular server and storage refresh reviews to ensure timely hardware lifecycle management
* Lead efforts to coordinate with the application teams the timely migration of programs and systems from old hardware to new
* Create schedules and project plans for review by upper management of hardware refresh efforts
* Lead business case development and execution for IT initiatives
* Partner with business and technology leaders to plan and execute key initiatives
* Keep up to date with changes to service offerings, technical capabilities and regulatory changes and align IT services at the sites
* Be an advocate of IT providing business leadership with communications on IT solutions, strategy, capabilities and costs
* Design, execute, and report on continuous improvement plans
* Develop and implement business continuity risk and mitigation plans
* Participate in Infrastructure initiatives that include, but are not limited to delivering: Infrastructure solutions for applications, server and storage refreshes, business integrations, compliance assessment and remediation, service improvement, managed services and outsourcing agreements
* Manage IT services commonly associated with infrastructure servers and storage but act on behalf of all infrastructure to ensure customer satisfaction
* Lead supplier management for day-to-day support, SLA monitoring and reporting
* Support and facilitate the adoption and expansion of IT best practices
* Liaise with outsource partners to ensure performance exceeds contractual SLAs
* Implement and run operational governance mechanisms to ensure performance issues are understood and appropriate solutions are implemented
* Ensure All relevant IT Compliance requirements are met
* Work with global IT Infrastructure teams on global initiatives

Qualification: Experience/ Qualifications:
* Demonstrable knowledge of IT capabilities and significant experience providing IT support across multiple countries
* Proven Project and Program Management expertise
* Managing vendor relationships and performance in an outsourced environment
* Ability to rapidly evaluate changing technologies and service options and apply them to the business environment
* Ability to successfully employ systematic problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and improvement efforts
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
* Ability to communicate concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Familiarity with: Windows Server and Client operating environments, Unix/Linux, Virtualization, storage technologies, LAN & WAN, IT Asset lifecycle management, Telephony,
* Matrix organization skills / ability to motivate multiple groups to maintain collaboration
* High energy, passion for customer service and attention to detail
* Change acceleration and adoption skills
* Exposure to continuous improvement methodology, LEAN, ITIL Foundation or other quality certification
* Ability to work as part of a global IT Infrastructure organization
* Experience in highly regulated environments

Education: BA/BS degree w/6 - 10+ years overall IT experience
MA/MS degree w/4 - 7+ years overall IT experience
