Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an outstanding opportunity in its Strategy group for a P-5 Strategy Analyst. The BDS Strategy function is responsible for overall strategy development and planning for the approximately $22B defense and security business within The Boeing Company. As an analyst on this team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Aerospace and Defense industry and to guide the strategic development for one of the most successful defense and security companies in the world.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Leads integration & synthesis of research, benchmarking & forecasting
• Develops integrated view of the future business environment and opportunities
• Oversees enterprise, functional and business unit integration of strategic decision analysis, including financial, technical and market analyses
• Leads business case development through partnering with other functions
• Ensures strategies and investments are reflected in Long Range Business Plan
• Oversees integration of market development for industry collaboration, acquisitions or partnerships.
• Collaborates across functions and business units to develop and deploy strategies to achieve business objectives.
• Oversees high-level meetings regarding complex strategy subjects, building alignment and driving decision-making.

The strategy team work within project teams made up of fellow strategy personnel, functional and technical experts and business unit representatives focused on the most important opportunities and issues.

Strong value addition skills: Understands hypothesis driven approach to strategy development. Clear, effective and organized written / verbal communications, the ability to defend strategic assumptions and analysis through critical reviews, ability to build business cases for new concepts and business ideas. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough and consistent with the Boeing strategic objectives. Ability to generate insights from quantitative and qualitative data to explain implications on business strategy. Knowledge of the Aerospace & Defense industry and its related technologies. A successful candidate should have an understanding of the bigger strategic picture, but also have the ability to deep-dive into the key strategic and tactical issues of businesses and divisions. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, possess an aptitude for critical thinking and also have the ability to present the insights from this analysis. The candidate must also be able to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries on a daily basis

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Typical Education & Experience

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Basic Qualifications (Required)


This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.


The ability to obtain a TS/SCI US Security Clearance post hire


Experience coordinating projects across multiple business and globally distributed teams


Experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry


Experience in a role which required understanding of aerospace & defense related technologies and services


Experience leading and managing the development and integration of business plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals


5 or more years of experience do you have researching and analyzing data


5 or more years experience in strategy, competitive assessment, business intelligence and/or market analysis

Preferred Qualifications


Degrees in fields such as Finance, Business Management, Political Science, International Affairs, and Security Policy Studies are also desirable
