About The Job

This job is a member of the Compliance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for conducting in-depth investigations and processing reviews in order to evaluate system deficiencies as related to AA’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) compliance with the CFRs. This job is crucial in supporting and maintaining the safety and compliance of the airline operation. Investigations will focus on identifying opportunities to correct program/systemic issues associated with Engineering, Planning, Records, etc. This position will frequently interface with the FAA, including communicating compliance matters.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* ​Completes more complex investigations/assignments timely and accurately

* Manages visits from regulatory agencies

* Collaborates with the FAA to resolve compliance concerns

* Develops corrective actions through collaboration with Engineering, Planning, Records, etc.

* Conducts strategic departmental evaluations to identify risk and establish robust processes and procedures

* Collects, analyzes and distributes compliance and safety performance information

* Builds relationships and coordinates cross-functionally with all AA maintenance departments

* Serves as consultant or advocate on specialized compliance and other programs or projects

* Develops, encourages, and insists upon a culture of safety, compliance, and client satisfaction

* Supports team members when appropriate

* Applies Safety Management Systems (SMS) to mitigate risk

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* ​Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering disciplines such as Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical or at least 5 years’ experience with programs associated with supporting the CAMP

* Existing positive relationship with the FAA

Preferred Qualifications

* ​3 years working history as an Engineer with aircraft systems/components or related experience

* Six Sigma training

* ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

* Knowledge of AA Technical Operations policies and procedures

* Knowledge of CFRs, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), SMS and other applicable regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance, repair and engineering

* Knowledge of human factors and the impact to safety

* Self -motivated person that has the ability to identify causes and develop solutions using resources at hand, then implements and coordinates the solutions with multiple departments and work skills even under challenging conditions

* Excellent analytical, communication, planning and organization skills
