We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support our aviation communication development needs. From system requirements determine the appropriate software design and prepare design review material for the review team. Develop code to meet the requirements and develop/perform unit testing to prove the correct functionality. All work follows established CMMI work procedures and adheres to coding standards. Our Linux based software is "the heart" of a mission critical aviation communications network where protocols and high availability are integral to the software development.
The candidate will:
* Design, code, test, integrate and document software of high complexity. Knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, C, and high availability systems are required.
* Complete database development, database schemas, virtual machines, server provisioning, Java or Python experience a plus.
* The candidate must possess solid writing skills and strong verbal communication skills to work in a highly integrated team environment.
* "The candidate will support the 24x7 nature of the on-call rotation, in weekly intervals, for a system providing 99.999% availability."
* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
