This position supports tasking for the F/A-18 Program Office's Weapon System Integration Team at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) in Lexington Park, MD. The successful candidate will research, analyze and track weapons programs throughout their acquisition life cycle; monitor critical events such as program schedule, milestones, technical performance, funding, and documentation; evaluate system performance and program tasks for applicability to operational requirements; assist program managers with developing, reviewing and processing Statements of Work, Procurement Initial Documents, Contract Data Requirements Lists, Flight Clearances, and other program documentation; participate and/or facilitate program meetings to include Program Management Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, Flight Certification Reviews, Engineering Data Requirements Agreement Plan (EDRAP) and Integrated Program Team Meetings; provide technical writing to include Stores Integration Plan (SIP), White Papers and Specification/Requirement documentation. Travel is required.
Education/Experience: A Masters degree and ten (10) years experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management as specified in the DOD 5000 series is required. A bachelors degree in any field or a Project Management Institute (PMI) certification and an additional three (3) years of work experience can be substituted for a masters degree. In lieu of a degree an additional five (5) years of work experience is required. Desired experience includes familiarity with SECNAV, OPNAV, and OSD forms related to PPBE, Military Interdepartmental Procurement Requests, Work Requests, Requisitions, Contract Data Requirements List, DD254, and demonstrated experience in program/project status, earned value management and schedules.
Experience/Education is a contract requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The selected applicant must have working knowledge of Statements of Work (SOW) and contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs). Excellent reading, writing, proofreading and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task is required. Preferred candidate should be able to demonstrate familiarity with advanced functions in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Ability to structure and monitor a program schedule using MS Project is highly desirable. The selected applicant will possess strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
