American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to perform the following duties: Responsible for providing support for the design and performance of database structures and distributed data environments. Build new windows servers using blades and RAC mounts. Install windows Operating system, add storage, configure BOOT from SAN, and setup the window cluster. Provide support for Active directory and GPO requirements for SQLServer security. Design and build SQLServer database environments and maintain SQLServer databases. Design, build and maintain Mongo / MYSQL database environments. Design and support SQL databases in Cloud technologies. Design and create SSAS databases, data source views and cubes with partitions Configure SSIS database, develop the packages based on requirement, and configure DR. Create the SSRS dashboard and reports including Drill down, Linked, Parameterized, Cached, Sub-reports, and Adhoc reports. Design and implement the Operational automation process using Powershell and C++. Support 24/7 critical systems and support the Oncall duties. Collaborate with the application development teams to optimize schema design and SQL statements. Build, deliver, and support effective and creative data management solutions aligned to specific business initiatives and collaborate with other IT associates and functional business teams to satisfy internal and external objectives. Perform database and Query performance tuning. Establish best practices and make recommendations for process improvements, and perform maintenance and improvements to increase database operational efficiency. Plan and implement strategies for meeting data management needs.
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electronic engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, database engineering, or database administration, and demonstrated experience in: Installing, configuring, administering, upgrading, and migrating SQL Clusters Versions 2008, 2012, and 2016; Maintaining the availability of SQL versions 2012 and 2016 in all environments on both Windows and Linux platforms; Installation, Configuration and administration of MongoDB or MySQL Database in Cloud Foundry; Configuring Disaster Recovery solution using Log Shipping, mirroring, SQL Replication and AlwaysOn; Provisioning Databases in the Cloud using IT Automation tools including Ansible and YAML in BlueMix; Precise Monitoring Installation, Configuration and Management; Disaster recovery Setup and Monitoring; PowerShell, PL/SQL and T SQL Scripting; User management in compliance to PCI/DSS standards; Setup and Maintenance of Windows 2016 and SQL 2016 Clusters and Integration with storage systems; Setup, configure and administer security tools and Integrate them with SQL Server 2012 and 2016; Installation and maintenance of SSAS, SSIS and SSRS services; Integration and maintenance of DNS and Active Directory in SQL Server systems; and Strong systems, database, application, Windows, Linux and storage troubleshooting skills. A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
