American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Developer, IT Applications to perform the following duties: Responsible for designing software or customizing software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Develop, create, and modify general computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs utilizing software packages. Utilize object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test software systems. Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of the designs. Build Restful web services that use JSon to support the AA iOS and Android mobile applications. Perform the load tests, volume tests and unit tests using CA Service Virtualization and SoapUI. Design, develop and deploy Micro services in cloud environment using Cloud Foundry Command line and IBM blue mix. Modify existing software to correct errors and allow software to adapt to new hardware or to improve its performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Use test driven development techniques and testing methodologies including JUnit and automated testing. Utilize J2EE technologies including Java, TomCat Server, Struts, Spring, JMS, and JDBC to design and customize software. Analyze data to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Investigate and resolve problems with software products and systems. Prepare system documentation and peer code reviews. Participate in requirement review sessions. Contribute to the project estimation process. Participate in business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions.
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in systems analysis, consulting, programming, or java development, and demonstrated experience in: Java/J2EE; Spring Framework; RESTful Web Services; SOAP Web Services; Soap UI; Dynatrace; Accurev; Splunk; CA Service Virtualization; Akamai; Apache Tomcat; IBM Websphere. A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
