Program Developers design and develop training programs using Instructional Systems Design principles in support of the American Airlines’ Flight Service training program. Works collaboratively with training management, customers, instructional staff and subject matter experts to understand customer training needs and create effective, skills based training solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform training needs assessments and analyze results to determine training needs and performance gaps

* Design and develop web based training materials to meet Flight Service training requirements

* Work collaboratively with a diverse team (department managers and supervisors, customer representatives, subject matter experts, instructional staff, program developers) to research, design, develop and implement effective training solutions

* Provide technical support and resolves complex problems for computer-based training courseware for internal customers

* Establish relationships with key business customers and stakeholders

* Deliver customer focused products and services

* Take ownership of assigned projects and do what is necessary to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards

* Provide timely status updates and reports on assigned projects and organizational performance to supervisor

* Lead and motivate employees working as a team

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred in instructional systems design, training/curriculum development, education, organizational development or a related field

* Three or more years curriculum development experience

* Practical experience using ISD principles and the ADDIE process to include adult learning theories, interactive training and learning design, and e-learning design principles

* Proficient in HTML, ActionScript 3, JavaScript Frameworks/Libraries, CSS

* Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud products to include Animate, Captivate, Photoshop

* Proven interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together

* Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities and projects

* Previous project management experience preferred

* Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language

* Some travel is required

* Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) related to packaging and uploading training content preferred

* When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends

* Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, and other governmental regulations pertaining to training preferred

* Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
