Job Description

The lead Quality Assurance position supports new and existing efforts.  Responsibilities include creating test cases from Rally Use Cases, leading QA team members, working with developers and project managers to close out issues, support system changes, presentation of working code in end of iteration demos, priming and support of needed test data in various environment, tracking progress against test cases, and driving overall QA direction.

In addition to being a strong QA Lead, candidates must be self-starters who excel in collaborative environments and have strong leadership skills. Candidates should possess communication skills that allow them to present to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. An eye for the larger picture and a proactive attitude towards solving problems is essential. 

This position is an Agile Quality Assurance lead role.  Successful candidates will work on an Agile Scrum team to test and deliver new functionality on AA.com


Job Qualifications



  • Ensure that project team is delivering value to the customer
  • Collaborate with Product Owners/Business Owners and team to write acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate project team’s testing strategy for user stories
  • Manage turn over to operations for testing artifacts at release
  • Mentor Testers on project team to improve skills and assist in career development
  • Facilitate/promote communication across disciplines on project team
  • Participate and contribute to BA/QA Community of Practice
  • Continually evaluate the testing process to ensure current best practices are being followed
  • Continually evaluate testing tool to ensure the appropriate tools are being used
  • Ensure testing data is provisioned for 30+ loyalty clients


Required Skills


  • Ability to self-organize
  • Test data preparation in complex environments
  • Experience as a QA on an Agile team
  • Experience using various modeling techniques for discussions, development and test planning
  • Understanding of various testing methodologies
  • Understanding of the various levels of testing
  • Understands test first development practices and principles
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development/ Acceptance Test Driven

Development processes and tools


  • Experience with SIEBEL API/WebServices
  • Experience coordinating and gathering audit request/criteria with internal and external auditors
  • Experience with loyalty test data management and enterprise integration (Customer Hub, SABRE and Mosaic)
  • Strong leadership skills with passion to help others learn and improve
  • Ability to work on distributed teams
  • Experience with coordinating release validation for production delivery/deployment
  • Support QA test automation for tools and test coverage to promote continues testing


Would like to have skills


  • Airline Experience
  • Sabre Experience
  • Experience with Rally, QC, and MS Visio
  • Loyalty Experience




  • 5-7 years experience required
  • 1-2 years working as a QA lead on Agile scrum team
  • Degree (Master’s or Bachelor’s) in computer science, computer engineering in relevant field is preferred or commensurate experience
