Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

Lean Manufacturing Sr Associate Engineer Leads the design and support of enterprise-wide business intelligence applications and architecture. Develops standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure and attributes of business intelligence tools and systems. Defines and executes useful analyses to solve problems. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user. Creates testing methodologies and criteria. Develops data/information quality metrics. Researches new technologies and develops business cases to support their use. Identifies data trends, generates insights and comes to business conclusions. Supports strategic decision making across the organization.
* Develop and implement reporting solutions using industry standard business intelligence methodologies.
* Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
* Apply technical skills using Pentaho, Tableau and/or Alteryx ETL solutions to collect and aggregate data into impactful analysis and reporting.
* Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
* Write well-designed, testable code adhering to defined standards and patterns.
* Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, databases, business intelligence tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Execute solutions using full software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
* Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
* Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
* Document and maintain solutions functionality. Responsible for supporting the Phoenix manufacturing vision & strategy.

This person will closely work with the Lean teams and business leaders to identify and implement process improvement projects that support the financial and strategic priorities of the organization. The job involves leading site Lean Transformation Kaizens and supporting cross-functional process improvement projects. This will require consulting with business leaders and associates across the value stream. Will work to improve efficiency, quality, profitability, internal communication, & customer experience. This person will train, coach and mentor associates and managers on lean tools and principles for business processes.

Major Responsibilities of the position:
* Support implementation of Lean initiatives based on the strategic priorities and needs of the company.
* Support project feasibility and business case development, matching projects to the strategic priorities of the organization.
* Facilitate and drive implementation of process improvements.
* Conduct A3 Root Cause Problem Solving as part of process improvement and stabilization.
* Perform detailed process time studies to identify and reduce waste, also serving as a resource to assist others.
* Train and assist production Supervisors in the creation of Standardized Work documents.
* Apply principles of Lean, such as Takt Time planning, Single Piece Flow, Pull, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory Management, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Factory.
* Lead implementation of Lean Transformations Projects, serve as a resource during implementation.
* Provide assistance to functional leaders with planning and implementing Lean projects that tie strongly to business financial
* Lead complex projects that cut across various organizational and functional boundaries.
* Assist in the identification and removal of barriers to successfully complete projects.
* Develop / report key diagnostic operations metrics that identify the core issues.
* Conduct Kaizen events using Lean tools to achieve desired results with measurable metrics.
* Lead project execution and implementation for a significant implementation of digital tools and the supporting infrastructure/operating system to lead step level improvement in key metrics: safety, quality, delivery & cost.

Qualification: Manufacturing, electronics or aerospace experience preferred
Knowledge of and experience with Toyota Production System preferred

Must have applied statistics capability; Manufacturing operations skills
Outstanding project management skills
Good understanding of analytical tools and proficiency in root cause problem solving
Training and presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.
Must have excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years Lean Manufacturing related experience required
