Sales Engineer- Commercial Ground Vehicle, Kidde Fire Protection Systems (FPS)
Kidde Fire Protection Systems (FPS) Systems is currently seeking a Sales Engineer for the Commercial Ground Vehicle. Kidde FPS is a global organization of close to 900 employees with offices in the UK, Australia, France and Germany and headquartered in Wilson, North Carolina, USA. UTAS is searching for an individual to work in the exciting field of transit fire detection and suppression. This position requires an individual that is willing to learn and able to work independently. In addition to supporting the needs of the sales team, this individual will ensure system and component compliance with design, quality, and operational requirements while meeting applicable standards and customer expectations. This candidate will be responsible for coordinating both internal and external sources to ensure systems, products, and documentation meet customer needs.
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner and being responsive to their needs in a timely manner.
-Supporting the sales team. This includes but is not limited to supporting sales meetings with customers, customer demonstrations, demo system installations, etc.
- Generating field documentation such as system reports, field bulletins, etc.
- Addressing field issues and working with quality, field support, and product engineering to develop, implement, and finalize corrective actions.
- Constructing system bill of materials for the purpose of generating customer quotes
- Supporting system and component approval needs
- Providing technical support for field support personnel
Qualification: Experience in a sales engineer role for electro-mechanical products preferred
-Strong written and verbal skills a must.
-Experience reading schematics and system level troubleshooting a plus
-Basic knowledge of fire detection and/or suppression systems a plus.
-Background with transit vehicles a plus.
This position requires regular domestic travel and some international travel (40% to 50% travel).
Position is located in Burnsville, MN reporting out Wilson, NC.
Education: B.S in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required with 2 or more years of experience.
