Develop new repairs from conception through development and production hand-off and beyond to continuous improvements.
Coordinates with Customers, OEMs, DERs, Vendors, Marketing, Operations, QA, and other engineers the priority, opportunity-window, and timeline to launch new repairs.
Identify, organize, prioritize, and coordinate the resources necessary to complete the repair development. Resources may include in-house and contracted services.
Provide technical authority and leadership for all technical activities in the company under FAA authority, including interpretation of Repair Manual.
Be the "Go-to" authority for all repair-process development. This includes repair process-engineering parameters for all in-house equipment and processes, tool design, etc. Manage consultants and vendors to supplement in-house know-how.
Posses in-depth process-parameter-level knowledge of the following: EB/Micro/TIG Welding, Vane/Honeycomb Brazing, CAD-operator/Tool-designer, Plasma/HVOF Coating, TAT-reduction/Scrap-reduction, Plating & Conversion Coating.
Project-Management-disciplined that can oversee a project from beginning to end.
Introduce new repairs to the production department, and train production personnel to perform the repairs in accordance with engineering specifications.
Other duties assigned by the company to address evolving business needs.
Have knowledge and understanding of Appendix A. Safety Procedures

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal• Ability to work as part of team.• Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge or Solid Works & FEA (Failure Effect Analysis) Programs. The individual must possess an excellent working knowledge of engineering, repair and business processes.• Knowledge of ECS (Environmental Control Systems), Landing Gear, Hydraulic systems equipment and tooling, manufacturing procedures and special processes, including a knowledge of welding, plasma/metal spray, plating, cleaning, heat treatment, shot-peening, balancing, and NDT. A knowledge and understanding of metallurgy is desirable.• This position requires a relevant B.S. engineering degree and related technical experience, of not less than 5 yrs. Or equivalent experience of at least 10 years as a commercial aerospace OEM Repair Development or Product Support engineer • Six Sigma experience and/or qualification to greenbelt level is preferred. • Experience of EASA/FAA regulatory approval process is preferred.• Experience of working with both civil and military aerospace products is preferred.
Must have significant experience in, repair engineering, design engineering, and/or material application engineering. Also, strong knowledge of manufacturing shop operation and practices.
