The Reliability Analyst is a key agent in maintaining the inherent safety, reliability and operational reliability levels of aircraft, systems and components at the lowest cost through rational analysis and manipulation of the maintenance / inspection program.  Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and evaluate all forms of data used to measure component, system and aircraft performance for safety and economic impact as outlined in the Reliability Program Manual
  • Compile and publish various reports to illustrate such issues and trends
  • Report findings and trends to management and the Reliability Board
  • Monthly Reliability Report:  Compile, build and publish the monthly Reliability Report (as required by AC 121-1A) which includes reporting monthly performance and standards as well as control limits exceeded and analysis of those limits exceeded; distribute to company officers, directors and the FAA
  • Monthly Reliability Board Meeting:  a. Analyze and evaluate data from Reliability Report for presentation at Reliability Board Meeting;  b.  Compile, produce and distribute Agenda for Reliability Board meeting;   c.  Build electronic presentation to include graphs, photographic supporting documentation and vendor supplied data;  d.  Active participant by presenting overview of statistical data and performance and analysis of trends and findings as required by AC 120-17A;    e.  Report to Reliability Board progress or status of issues from previous meetings
  • Recommends changes to the Maintenance Program as a result of analysis of component and systems trends 
  • Controls, updates and monitors data used for the Frontier Airlines Chronic Aircraft Program as required by FAR 121.373 and presents new and updated items at morning maintenance conference call
  • Reviews, analyzes and compiles all mechanical delays and cancellations and ensures the descriptions in the Reliability Delay/Cancellation database are consistent with the flight logs in order to produce and distribute the monthly Mechanical Interruption Summary Report as required by 14 CFR 121.705
  • Review, monitor, analyze and report all autoland attempts with particular emphasis on unsuccessful attempts (as a result of an aircraft system problem) for trends in aircraft tail or type, aircraft system, arrival station, particular runway, or any other common denominator that can be identified.  Identified trends will be reported to the Reliability Board.
  • Tabulate unscheduled removals of critical CAT II/III components (listed in Engineering Specification AO-22S-10257) and report statistically on the Critical Component Removals chart in Monthly Reliability and Statistical Analysis Report.
  • Work with other departments to correct erroneous data as necessary
  • Provide component data to vendors as requested
  • Facilitate meetings with vendors as required to present Frontier’s position with regard to poor component performance issues and press for resolution
  • Facilitate meetings with Airbus representatives as required to discuss various reliability issues in order to improve component or system performance
  • Travel to vendor repair stations for components with poor reliability when a shop visit would aid in understanding component issues and work with vendor to develop better methods of testing and repair
  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with reliability departments at other carries for exchange of reliability data as well as vendor and Airbus Inc. experiences.
  • Line and Hangar visits as necessary
  • Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in the GMM and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position
  • Degree in Aviation/Management or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Must have a understanding of AC 120-17A – Maintenance Control by Reliability Methods and incorporated elements specified in FAA Inspector’s Handbook -8300.10, Volume 3, Chapter 38- Monitor Approved Reliability Program
  • Understanding of Operations Specifications D074 and D072 and Component Analysis MSG-3
  • Proficiency in creating, using and manipulating relational databases
  • Understanding or use of Six Sigma methodology a plus
  • At least 2 years statistical reliability or maintenance program experiences desired
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Public Speaking skills
  • Knowledge and experience of airline technical operations
  • Knowledge of FARS
  • Moderate to advanced computer applications skill such as data base, spreadsheet application, and  visual/graphical presentations
