The Aerostructures business unit, headquartered in Chula Vista, Calif., is one of six business units within UTC Aerospace Systems. With a global network of facilities, Aerostructures is a world leader in the design, development, production, integration and support of jet engine nacelle systems for commercial aircraft.
Support A350XWB Value Stream, sites and primary customers (Airbus & Airlines).
Coordinate program quality requirements with engineering, tool design, manufacturing and suppliers.
Support and drive all corrective action activities/matrices, quality process maturity and process capability activities internally and with suppliers.
Work with and present project, process or product status to UTAS leadership and Airbus contacts.
Manage projects with emphasis on developing and maintaining improved quality performance.
Drive concession, defect and escape reduction activities.
Other activities as defined by leadership.
Experience with interfacing with suppliers, internal customers and external customers (Experience interfacing with Airbus is a plus).
Project management skills with emphasis on developing Quality plans, visuals and metrics to track performance.
Proven proficiency with MS Office applications. Experience in SAP and TeamCenter.
Proven experience in a corrective action system (QIM preferred).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and ACE a plus.
Proven verbal and written skills and the ability to present to teams and leadership.
BS in a technical discipline and at least 5 years experience in aerospace quality assurance, operations, manufacturing and/or equivalent combination of the above.
Experience with Quality Assurance systems AS/EN9100, program quality engineering. Proven experience in driving corrective action.
