The Project Manager-IT works with various stakeholders (internal and external) to manage technology projects within the Company. Provides ultimate direction for projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the project plan, schedule, budget and status reports for assigned project.
Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects.
Ensures that quality project deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.
Acts as primary interface between business units, technology teams and support teams (internal, external and vendors) and acts as an escalation point for issues.
Coordinates activities of project team, identifying appropriate resources needed to ensure timely completion of project.
Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies.
Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
Coordinates system deployments with tasks such as Requirements Gathering, Development, QA, User Acceptance Testing roll out and product adoption.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of project management including managing project budgets, work breakdown structures, and systems integration.
Advanced skills in MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel and other job related applications.
Interpersonal and leadership skills to manage multiple projects at one time with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to translate communication needs of employees/customer not versed in computer terminology for both hardware and software into meaningful solutions.
Basic knowledge of Government Contracts and the Federal Acquisitions Regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills to present project status to senior level management.
Demonstrable experience with systems integration.
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline or equivalent experience.
PMP Certification preferred.
Five (5) or more years’ experience with Information Technology environment with strong background in software and infrastructure that includes four (4) years’ experience in a supervisory or project management role.
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
