Project Engineering Manager

Project Engineering Manager (Itasca CSC)
Responsible for leading, training, managing and developing the capabilities and infrastructure needed to exceed customer expectations in schedule, service, and quality of all engineering projects. PE Manager will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Project Engineers responsible for the technical implementation of the engineering projects assigned to the organization. Responsible for developing and implementing best practice and lessons learned across the project engineering group. Accountable for providing detailed monitoring, troubleshooting, and status across all projects to company leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide oversite and guidance to a team of project engineers as they develop detailed project strategies
Support the business development team in developing design and certification strategies for new opportunities
Monitor project progress and open technical risks
Provide mentoring and training to employees
Provide monitoring and guidance to project vendors in order to maintain schedule, and budget while achieving the defined work scope
Manage and cooperate with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA) and their delegees while during all phases of the aircraft certification life cycle
Lead project efforts identified as critical or strategic to company objectives
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Aerospace Engineering, or in a related technical and/or equivalent field
Familiarity and/or experience working with a 3D CAD package, preferably Autodesk Inventor
Familiarity and/or experience working with a 2D CAD package, preferably AutoCAD
Familiarity and/or experience developing piece-part, assembly and/or installation models and drawings
Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification processes and requirements
Experience in the aviation/aerospace or similar industry
7+ years of experience working in a mechanical design capacity
