Position Purpose/Objective:

The Program Manager has direct accountability for the success of assigned product line program(s) as measured in all the terms and requirements of the contract, by profitability/cost expectations set by the Military Seating Program Management Lead (MSPML) and General Manager and by the measure of customer satisfaction. The Program Manager manages and coordinates the activities of all assigned Program Management Team (PMT) members and customer service representatives (CSRs).

Essential Responsibilities:

* Leads mid to large-sized programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets for programs.
* Leadership responsibility through all phases of the program management process, specifically ensuring the team achieves all deliverable outputs of each phase
* Charter and lead the program team and to plan, manage, execute, monitor and control all elements of the program
* Serves as the single point of authority for new product development and introduction
* Owns the profit and loss of assigned program(s)
* Provides program leadership and communications to team members, to the Military Seating Program Management Lead and Operations Manager and other functional groups
* Ensures performance of the Program Management Team (PMT) and the Integrated Product Teams (IPTS) to the plan
* Responsible for the delivery of products to the EVMS plan commitment related to cost and schedule. Establishes and ensures adherence to customer delivery targets related to program hardware, software and data items and owns the demand plan
* Conducts periodic internal and customer reviews
* Works with Military Seating Program Management Lead and as necessary, AC/BD, to develop and present bids and new proposals. Pursues new business on existing programs and executes sales strategies as developed by AC/BD on new and derivative products
* Drives the UTAS Mission and Operating Principles by modeling the Four Gears and driving the Interiors Mission, Vision, Values and Legacies
* Drives and develops continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality
* Manages assigned PMT members; works with Military Seating Program Management Lead on identifying and justifying additions to PMT or removal of members. Collaborates with Military Seating Program Management Lead on interviewing, hiring, training, developing team members. Ensures team members meet assigned targets and takes appropriate actions if targets or goals are not met. Monitors team member performance and regularly evaluates individuals’ performance and provides on-going coaching and feedback
* Ensures compliance to all applicable policies, laws, rules and regulations. Ensures employee safety through the continued education and discussion of the Cardinal Rules for EH&S and Quality
* Responsible for explaining company policies and regulations to subordinate groups. Applies the Corporate Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and implements effective affirmative actions to assist the company in the attainment of goals and objectives
* Perform other related duties as requirements develop. Ensure compliance with UTC Aerospace EHS and Ethical Policies and with Federal, State and local laws

* Strong proficiency in computer skills to include MS Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook

* Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead both tactical and strategic initiatives
* Expresses ideas effectively to establish oneself as a credible and impactful leader
* Adjusts personally to high pressure, rapidly changing business conditions and uncertain business environments
* Drives obligations to closure with precision to benefit the organization and every constituent

* BA/BS degree with 10+ years related experience in a customer facing role (program management/business development), engineer on a program team, manufacturing, and/or operations
* MA/MS degree with 7+ years related experience in a customer facing role (program management/business development), engineer on a program team, manufacturing, and/or operations
* MBA preferred
* Supervisory experience preferred
* Program Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
