The Cabin Systems Engineer specifies, develops, integrates, validates and certifies aircraft electrical cabin components and systems.  The Engineer is primary support for Cabin Management Systems (CMS) and entertainment systems integration.





  • Define system and high level requirements related to the functionality of cabin management and entertainment systems.
  • Create systems level box diagrams to illustrate cabin and entertainment systems architecture.
  • Create robust test procedures to validate the appropriate functionality of newly integrated LRU’s and cabin management components.
  • Establish simulated environments and perform tests and analyses of prototype systems.
  • Maintain close coordination with appropriate group(s) at Embraer Brazil locations to ensure that all processes are being followed and any new development is not divergent from the intentions of Embraer Brazil.
  • Guarantee the correct interface between interiors installation and electrical, manufacture and assembly processes. Guidance is provided from senior staff.







  • A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in any of the following technical fields or similar is preferred: BS degree in Systems, Electrical, Software, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering.



  • Prior aviation cabin management or entertainment background is not required, but desirable.
  • Junior Level Individual Contributor in a functional work group.                                                                 
  • Generally 0-2 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Customer focused with good relationship building skills.
  • Some knowledge of the operation of cabin interior systems, such as IFE, CMS and connectivity.
  • Detail oriented and focused individual able to work effectively both autonomously or as a team member when required.
  • Some knowledge of the operation of cabin management and entertainment systems.
  • Computer literacy including: proficiency with word processing tools, requirement capture tools, software configuration tools.
  • Knowledge of generating Engineering Orders in both test and production environments.
  • Some comprehension required of fundamental practices associated within the field of work assigned.
  • Limited knowledge of industry policies and practices which are gradually obtained via this entry level.
  • Resolves problems that are of a clearly defined nature and easily identifiable as to the best method of resolution.
  • Tasks to be performed are at the most basic level of professional individual contribution.
    • Limited impact within their functional group only.
    • Errors in judgment do not adversely impact Embraer Company Operations. 
  • Work assignments are generally reviewed regularly by higher level professional colleagues or manager on a regular and pre-determined basis.   
  • Exercises independent judgment in the interpretation of established policies and procedures developed by others.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must possess good written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to immediate supervisor.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects in a fast paced work environment.
  • Portuguese or Spanish language skills a plus.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

  • Availability for domestic and international travel.
