Candidate will be expected to follow specific process procedures. Employee will be required to adjust plating bathes by adding chemicals under the direction of the Plating Supervisor. Employee must have the competence to follow written procedures for precise shell and electrode plating. Responsible for brite dipping process and passivity testing. Additional working knowledge of nickel, tin and copper plating procedures will be necessary Employee will be a hazardous waste handler. Candidate must understand surface area calculations and the application of time and current to achieve specified plating.
Other prerequisites will be the working knowledge of processing all product in the proper sequence to produce high quality product in a prompt and efficient manner. Extensive use of pin gauges and thread gauges is required to ensure product meets specification prior to release from the plating department. Employee will know and follow the procedures for pre-plate and post plating clean up as well as proper racking and un-racking methods to avoid damage to product. Employee will be required to perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Plating Supervisor. Must be able to lift 40 to 50 lbs, when needed. Must be willing to work in “plating shop” environment (noise, hazardous chemicals, humidity, hot plating baths). The ideal candidate will have experience in the following: Cleaning, descaling, bright dipping, passivating, plating, racking, masking, wiring, nickel plating (electrolytic and electroless), copper, tin, gold. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
