Our Communication Specialists receive critical medical helicopter transportation requests and relay that information to the helicopter crew serving the region. The candidates for this position must be able to work under pressure and remain calm. A higher than average attention to detail is required and the individual must be able to maintain sharp focus on all aircraft while in flight. Our Communication Specialists are responsible for demonstrating competencies in operating all radios, information systems, and any related equipment associated with the Air Medical Communications Center.
•Must be able to articulate technical information clearly via radio transmission and be readily understood by others in stressful situations. Enunciation and articulation are critical to success
•Minimum two years dispatching experience in an EMS/911/Aviation work environment or two years of work experience as an EMT or Paramedic in a 911 or hospital environment
•Ability to remain calm during highly stressful situations
•High School Diploma or GED
•Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification (Preferred)
•Emergency Medical Dispatch certification (Preferred)
•NAACS certification (Preferred)
