Based in Shanghai, the Manager - China Sales & Market Development plays a key role in driving sales and commercial success of Delta's China portfolio. This position will be responsible for supporting and developing in-depth, data-driven performance diagnoses and plans and work across a matrix organization to formulate and implement initiatives, both tactical and strategic, to improve the China P&L. The ideal candidate for this role will be to have a clear understanding of Delta's China strategy and all initiatives, planned and ad-hoc, and be able to manage their implementation in a timely manner. This position will report to General Manager - APAC Sales Development and is a 2-3 year expat assignment.
Primary Functions:

Initiates, develops and rolls out strategic and tactics to improve China financial performance while collaborating with colleagues in Pricing, Revenue Management, Network Planning, and other areas
Responsible for not only data extraction, manipulation, reporting, and statistical and quantitative analysis but for channeling the results and developing strategic initiatives in line with divisional objectives
Work in a matrix environment to inspire and influence those across the organization to achieve desired results and implement plans; serve as a liaison between Sales and Commercial teams to identify growth opportunities
Develop strong communication and processes to help the Sales teams achieve their goals and performance objectives; present analysis to senior leaders which clearly outlines objectives and recommendations
Drive Delta - China Eastern cross-commercial collaborations and sales synergy
Assist in creation of short- and long-term strategic business goals and plans, and develop tracking mechanism
Lead through demonstration of Delta's core values as outlined in Rules of the Road. Communicates a compelling view of the organization's purpose and value in a way that helps others understand the importance and impact of their contributions
Works with team members to develop specific behaviors, skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities
Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and wellbeing

Bachelors degree required, MBA/Masters preferred
At least three years of related work experience, including in Sales, Revenue Management, Alliances, or other related functions
Ability to gather insight from and build consensus among others
Ability to discern ideas and prioritize for the greatest impact
Proven analytical and quantitative skills; strong financial and quantitative market modeling skills
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; excellent ability to seek input from and understand concerns of other stakeholders; high level of diplomacy and cross-cultural experience
Strong written and oral communication skills in order to successfully implement best practices, collaborate with others, and present progress
Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and internal DL tools like Hyperion and / or SAS
Strong database knowledge with MIDT, RPAD, FPS
Experience in working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment
English language skills required. Chinese language skills highly desirable
An insatiable cultural curiosity a definite plus
