Moog’s Aircraft Group (AG) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Commercial Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog’s invention enabled the technology for Fly-by-Wire flight controls used in today’s modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product based solutions for much of the commercial aircraft market, both here in the US and Globally.
As a Manufacturing Project Engineer in Moog’s Aircraft Group, you’ll work specifically on all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the area of assignment. Plans and conducts work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
This position reports to the Manager of System and Process Engineering, and may have reporting to it manufacturing or product engineers as needed in support of the projects. Additionally this position may have various manufacturing technicians and engineers receiving technical project direction from it.
The candidate provides technical support to the Manufacturing Engineering Group solving the most difficult problems associated with the manufacture of parts. These problems may arise for any number of reasons such as tooling, machine tool, gauging, heat-treating, and plating. The solution of these problems may require the Manufacturing Engineer's decision alone, or could result in contacting and working with other members of the Manufacturing Engineering Department, Moog Product or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance personnel, M & P Engineers, Inspectors, Production supervision, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, or Moog vendors. As a result, the Manufacturing Project Engineer must not only possess the human relations skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of people, but must also have the initiative to contact and coordinate with other groups when a problem solution so requires.
The candidate will be required to use creativity in applying and adapting all available systems and techniques for solving Manufacturing Engineering problems. Additionally the incumbent will work with various Moog engineering groups in an ongoing effort to apply concurrent engineering principles. He/She will be expected to contribute as necessary to ongoing efforts amongst development, product and manufacturing engineering groups aimed at generating highly effective and more easily produced products.
Minimum Requirements –
B.S. Degree (ME or IE preferred)
8 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
