JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the development of many new cool, highly efficient power products. Partnering with the new product development teams, they will develop processes and tooling to manufacture products in the safest and most efficient way possible, focusing on design for manufacturability, assembly, testability and serviceability. They will be part of a strong team of engineers with a great sense of passion, teamwork and humility. An important part of the job is to drive out waste from our processes so organized Kaizen events are always on the calendar, and the manufacturing engineer’s expertise is highly valued. To help our company stay ahead of technology and our competition, this role will independently apply a high degree of creative ability in supporting internal research and development activities and bid and proposal. The Manufacturing Engineer works in liaison with development engineering, quality assurance, and test engineering on preliminary and regular program and production challenges - because we like a challenge.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work closely with the design team in the development period insuring the design satisfies requirements and is cost effective and practical to produce.

Establish manufacturing strategies and practices implementing innovative methods and equipment in support of manufacturing operations.

Develop detailed plans, procedures, routings and rework addendums and performs other manufacturing related tasks as required by the project.

We are a learning environment, so a manufacturing engineer must stay current in their discipline in order to teach and mentor others at every opportunity.

*

Participate in and lead lean activities to identify and eliminate waste from our processes.

*

Technical advisor for supply chain that includes circuit card assembly, printed wiring boards, sheet metal, plastics, and magnetics assemblies.

*

Familiarity with FAA Certification, documentation and testing requirements for class 2 and 3 equipment as required by 14 CFR Part 21 and 25 a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline from four-year college or university required and 7+ years related experience.
