Position Summary

This role is critical to advancing the strategic use of data across the Revenue Management & Network Planning department and beyond.  This role leads a high-performance team focused on revenue forecasting and projects, ensuring that company goals, objectives, and growth trends are built into forecasted revenue performance.  Projects range in focus from implementation of new systems to design and improvement of internal processes to application of decision science for business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage analytical support to revenue projects and initiatives, and present findings to senior leadership
  • Lead a team of analytical professionals who are responsible for providing objective analytical insights on key metrics, strategic initiatives, competitive/industry factors, and performance drivers
  • Maintain and deliver annual passenger revenue budget and ongoing passenger revenue forecast, in cooperation with Finance
  • Enhance current revenue models by increasing data integration, automation standards, and science integration
  • Master the story behind the numbers.  Be responsible for the accuracy and predictability of the revenue forecast
  • Serve as revenue analytics subject matter expert for the organization
  • Support the development of analysis tools and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical discipline (Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.), business administration or related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • Five years of progressive experience in an analytical, revenue management, and/or pricing function.  Education equivalent (graduate degree) and experience is acceptable
  • Demonstrated leadership success
  • Extensive analytical, financial modeling, and/or forecasting experience with a proven ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable insights
  • Mastery of analytical tools, including spreadsheet modeling, SQL Server or other database software, and/or statistical analysis tools (e.g. R, SAS, SPSS)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, particularly related to translating complex concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Ability to simplify complex analytics into recommendations that are easily understood and executable
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proven strategic thinking and successful execution coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in business administration or quantitative/technical field (Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, etc.), or equivalent experience
  • Experience in managing direct reports
  • Understanding of database architecture and the ability to merge large data sets from disparate sources
  • Working knowledge of data visualizations platforms such as Tableau, QlikView, or TIBCO Spotfire
  • Experience with revenue management systems, particularly in the airline industry
