  • Responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of aircraft maintenance programs for HAL’s aircraft fleets.
  • Manages, administers, and maintains Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox (Toolbox) for task cards and FAA-Approved Maintenance Program (AMP).
  • Provides management and/or oversight of FAA-approved maintenance programs (ETOPS, LLM/LMP, RVSM, CPCP, Aging Aircraft, OIP, CDCCL, etc.) to ensure continued compliance with current requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that maintenance programs are reviewed against and adjusted to the latest Maintenance Planning Data (MPD) and Maintenance Review Board (MRB) reports when necessary.
  • Responsibility to ensure Maintenance Programs’ associated Task Cards (T/Cs) and work instructions tied to aircraft letter checks (A, B, C & Heavy Checks), servicing, washing/polishing, cleaning, check and inspecting activity comply with the most current technical, configuration and safety information. 
  • Ensure that Maintenance Program deliverables include up to date references, tooling and part numbers, where called out.
  • Research, evaluate, adjust, and control fleet maintenance programs for safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and dispatch reliability.
  • Review non-routine write-ups following checks, and incorporate findings into routine task cards, with the objective of driving down the total number of non-routine write-ups generated for each check. 
  • Responsible to collaborate with Engineering as required, to ensure T/Cs are technically accurate, authoring, revising, preparing, reviewing and approving maintenance program tasks as needed to provide reliable aircraft to support revenue operations.
  • Incorporate Technical Review Group decisions on Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), All Operator Letters (AOLs) and FAR changes that affect the maintenance program for each fleet.
  • Act as a liaison with manufacturers and contract agencies to ensure all technical aspects of the maintenance program are met.  This includes incorporating the results of job card findings such as corrosion and structural repairs back into the maintenance program and Toolbox, as required
  • Ensure proper upfront coordination with project engineers and focals occur for large projects, participating in Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews, to gather information needed to revise affected maintenance program documentation, as needed.
  • Professional Development of team members in the group and other related duties as assigned by Senior Director – Engineering.

Basic Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering with at least 8 years' experience in the aviation maintenance industry, or an advanced degree and 3-5 years of relevant airline maintenance experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 10+ years of airline maintenance program experience, some of which was in a leadership capacity, may be considered.
  • 3+ years of commercial aviation experience with FAR 121, in the field of Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Regulatory Compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Proven ability to lead others in an effective and productive way. Ability to get things done in a fast paced environment, with multiple customers, deadlines and priorities.
  • Possesses a contagious, positive attitude – creatively finds a way to get things accomplished without compromising on safety and efficiency. Takes a proactive approach in finding a better way of doing things. Cultivates a continuous improving culture within his/her team.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects to balance work within the group, ensuring important technical updates are provided to maintenance documentation in an expeditious manner. 
  • Must have knowledge of FARs, STC processes, MPD, MRB, and related FAA compliance documents.
  • Must be knowledgeable on aircraft systems, have experience in writing clear and concise aircraft maintenance procedures and practices for Mechanics to follow.  Excellent knowledge of common MS Office suite of tools is also required.
  • Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills, a demonstrated ability of acting as an effective change agent, as well as good oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and on-call when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A&P certificate preferred.
  • Working knowledge of TRAX is desired
