American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Manager, IT Application to perform the following duties: Responsible for the delivery and effective project management of projects and work requests within committed budget, schedule and quality. Identify needs and monitor progress of deliverables from internal and external service provider teams. Prepare application development cost estimates, budgets and schedules. Establish IT application development process standards and ensure solution delivery, project management, work requests, and QA are established, effectively managed and performed. Educate the team's customers on roles, responsibilities, processes and deliverables required to ensure effective delivery of new technology solutions. Ensure technology solutions comply with architectural standards. Organize and maintain performance of any application issues in accordance with agreed SLA. Organize and provide 24x7 production support for the applications. Escalate and assist with follow-through on resolution of issues related to delivery of technology solutions. Responsible for HR administration for direct reports including time reporting, assign resources and track and provide status reporting of work assignments, projects, programs. Participate in developing and maintaining a sourcing plan, which includes creative sourcing options and alternatives to ensure supply capacities meet work demand, role and skill set requirements and cost objectives. Communicate progress to IT and Business leadership.
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technology field plus 3 years of experience as an analyst or tech lead in .Net/C# based design and development, and demonstrated experience in: Web Services, Web Applications and SOA technology; Databases SQL & ORACLE; Good Understanding of Airline domain, experience with building systems that interface with Sceptre, FOS; Translating functional and non-functional requirements into detailed technical specifications; Ensuring teams follow Software Development Best Practices including Continuous Integration, unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews; Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies using Rally and TFS; Keeping updated with Project Document using Sharepoint. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
