POSITION INFORMATION

Role Summary
Alaska Airlines is looking for a talented and experienced manager to oversee the success of our e-commerce analytics initiatives. This important leadership role will manage a team of analysts and oversee both analytics and A/B testing programs responsible for delivering insights and driving action. Having strong analytical, technical skills, exceptional written and verbal skills, and demonstrating organizational effectiveness are key responsibilities of this position. The E-commerce Analytics team is part of a larger Commercial Analytics organization.

Scope & Complexity
- Under limited supervision this manager role leads a team of analysts in providing e-commerce operational reporting, forecasting, and recommendations to guide the direction and success of customer-related initiatives. This person plays a key role in providing many business-critical organizations within Alaska Airlines with data, information and analysis to assist with data-driven business decisions, and provide them and their stakeholders with insights.

Key Duties
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts that develop, monitor, analyze, and interpret large data sets to measure KPIs across various e-commerce platforms (Desktop, Mobile, Mobile apps, and Kiosks).
- Manage the enterprise A/B testing strategy and philosophy to drive data driven decision making within the entire ecommerce organization.
- Continuously improve process, data, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with business leaders and program owners to solve complex challenges by mining data, profiling, segmenting, capturing key metrics, creating reports, and performing strategic analysis.
- Provide insights to various business leaders and program owners about the health of the business and operational activities that impact the customer.
- Generate and maintain ad-hoc and regular reports, scorecards and dashboards gathered from various data sources. Create and design new reports, dashboards, and measurements methods as needed.
- Analyze and interpret large data sets to research trends in behaviors across various customer touch points; synthesize into conclusions and actionable recommendations.
- Present findings to business leaders and program owners clearly and concisely.
- Manage, and maintain documentation and repositories for analytical information, training documentation, implementation documents and critical internal process documents.
- Validate data integrity and work with IT, CRM, Loyalty Marketing, Operations, Network Planning, Legal and Revenue Management to determine data and usage requirements and ensure that data elements are accurate, current and privacy is protected.
- Manage vendor relationships with outside technology partners who provide the platforms and tools needed for data collection and analysis and work closely with them to ensure that our needs are met.

Job-Specific Skills & Education
Required
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated strong analytic, quantitative, and data interpretation skills using large datasets or 4 years with a relevant technical Master's degree (e.g., data science, economics, statistics).
- Bachelor's degree in a business, math, technical field or related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics preferred).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience modeling with advanced statistics (cluster, pathing, regression, etc.).
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience with data preparation within unstructured and semi-structured environments (data lake, disparate cloud environments, API connections).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience managing or leading a team.
- Ability to perform advanced analytics in Alteryx, Python, and/or R with no oversight.
- Expert in multivariate, A/B, and optimization testing methods.
- Advanced at SQL and Tableau.
- Has experience running variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Experience in designing and productionizing complex analysis and research projects from scratch.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven functional proficiency in all MS Office tools.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently, be self-motivated with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
- Proven ability to recognize patterns in large data sets.
- Ability to interact with business leaders and provide insights, recommendations and collaborate to solve complex challenges facing the company.
- Ability to drive new and innovative work methods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred
- Airline industry or travel/hospitality knowledge.
- One or more years of revenue management experience.
