The Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) team at Delta Air Lines provides analytical support across all major operational areas, and this Manager will play a key role in Delta's continuous improvement.

The OAP Competitive Analysis and Schedule Support team is seeking an effective leader to head a team of analysts responsible for scheduling, evaluating, and optimizing Delta's block times (scheduled flight times). These scheduled block times serve as a critical input for Delta's schedule-building process and resource allocation. The successful candidate will espouse Delta's core values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Perseverance, and Servant Leadership. The successful candidate will have strong process/analytical skills, a drive for action, and the ability to partner with operational leaders to influence strategy, improve operational reliability, and drive results.

Primary Functions:
* Leading the OAP Block Planning and Performance team

* Partnering with OAP Schedule Analytics team to create a competitive advantage for Delta through improved optimization of schedule development inputs, processes, competitive analysis, and forecasting capability

* Driving insightful analysis to identify root cause drivers of performance trends and recommend comprehensive corrective action and improvement strategy

* Working closely with Operational and Commercial leaders to influence decisions and drive a consensus strategy on how to maximize schedule reliability and revenue while minimizing cost impact

* Partnering with Decision Science and Information Technology teams to explore new data sources and tools, automate schedule build practices, and improve application intelligence and speed

Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience is required, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience

* Prior team leadership experience preferred

* Excellent problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities as well as data and process curiosity

* Proficiency in working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL)

* Working knowledge of dashboard/report building (SAS, Tableau and other platforms)

* Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts preferred

* High degree of interpersonal savvy; strong written and oral communication, proven track record of implementing data solutions to drive business results

* Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills

* The ability to interact and collaborate at all levels within Operations Analysis & Performance, Network Planning, cross-divisional working groups, and outside entities

* Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
